La Casina di Pio IV ( or Villa Pia, casino di Pius IV , casina Pie IV) in the Vatican's gardens.
The Pontifical Academy of Social Science is situated in the Casina Pio IV (built in 1565) in the garden of the Vatican.The Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences was established by the John Paul II on 1 January 1994 with the aim of promoting the study and progress of the social sciences, primarily economics, sociology, law and political science.
- Vatican Gardens are spread over nearly 23 hectares, they contain a variety of medieval fortifications, buildings and monuments from the 9th century to the present day, set among vibrant flower beds and topiary, green lawns and a 3 hectares patch of forest.
