The Last Supper (Il Cenacolo or L'Ultima Cena)(460 cm × 880 cm) is a late 15th-century mural painting by Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) in the refectory of the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie, Milan. It is one of the world's most famous paintings. Leonardo began work on it in 1495 and completed it in 1498. The painting represents the scene of The Last Supper of Jesus with his disciples, as it is told in the Gospel of John, 13:21. Leonardo has depicted the consternation that occurred among the Twelve Disciples when Jesus announced that one of them would betray him.IdentifierAKG5196738SourceEric VandevilleCredit lineEric Vandeville / akg-imagesTopicCHRISTIANITYCHURCHLAST SUPPERPersonLEONARDO DA VINCISize2992px × 2020px (17 MB) 25.3 cm × 17.1 cm @ 300 dpiAdd to lightbox: 'My First Lightbox'Add to cartDownloadRelated Selections:Leonardo da Vinci - The Last Supper
