The 1968 Polish Political Crisis
In light of an anti-Zionist campaign waged by the minister of internal affairs, mass emigration and in turn, dissent began to brew in Warsaw. With the increasing control which the communist party held over Polish universities, underground resistance amongst students began to flourish in the country - much as it was in universities throughout Europe at the time.
Suffering from media repression and military counterattacks however, the dissent soon dwindled, as Poland's left lamented the lost opportunity for revolution which was so nearly within their grasp.
AKG have also put together selections of the other student movements which took place simultaneously throughout Europe at this time:
French Student Movement, 1968
German Student Movement, 1967-1968
