July 1918: 100 years since the assassination of the Romanovs
As a result of the events of the February Revolution in Russia at the beginning of 1917, Tsar Nicholas II had to resign on 15 March under the pressure of his generals.

The new provisional government sends the tsar's family to Siberia for imprisonment.

In October 1917, the Bolsheviks seized power under Lenin's leadership, and during the night of 16 to 17 July 1918, the Romanovs where executed in Ekaterinburg.
