The Life of Sidonie-Gabrielle Claudine Colette (1873 - 1954), played by Keira Knightley, in the cinema on the big screen.

The French writer, vaudeville artist and journalist was regarded as a femme fatale, highly talented and became an icon of women's literature with her novels, which are reflected women's lives and fates in a sensitive way.

In addition to many honours and prizes, Colette was one of the ten members of the Académie Goncourt from 1945 and its president from 1949. In 1953 she was named Grand Officer of the Legion of Honour.
When Colette died in 1954, the Grande Nation mourned and was given a solemn state funeral.
