Andrea Camilleri, Italian writer,

Born on 06.09.1925 in Porto Empodocle (Sicily).
Begins a career as a director of radio and theater. In 1945 his first poems, later also narratives, are published. He has been teaching at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (Experimental Center for Cinematography) in Rome from 1958 to 1970. He teaches at the National Academy of Dramatic Arts in Rome from 1977 to 1997. His first novel "The Way Things Go" was published in 1978. He became internationally known for his crime novels featuring the character of Commissario Montalbano (“La Forma dell’acqua” (1994), “The Shape of Water”). Died on 17.07.2019 in Rome
