Donatello (Donato di Niccolò di Betto Bardi).
Donatello's bronze David, is the artist's most famous work and the first known free-standing nude statue produced since antiquity.
His Equestrian Monument of Gattamelata (1453) in Padua, was also the first example of such a monument since ancient times.
