Artist & Mannequin
The exhibition ‘Silent Partners’ currently on show at The Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge, takes a close look at the subject of artists and their mannequins throughout history. Since the Renaissance mannequins have been regarded by artists as more than just mere pieces of equipment. By being the subject depicted on canvas or captured on film, mannequins have been turned into the focal point of artistic creation – they have become the artwork itself.

We hope you will enjoy our selection of images that takes inspiration from this fascinating subject!

‘Silent Partners: Artist & Mannequin from Function to Fetish’ runs at The Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge from 14 October 2014 to 25 January 2015.
