Hans Magnus Enzensberger, born 11.11.1929 in Kaufbeuren (Bavaria), after university he starts working as as an editor for a radio station. In 1957 he publishes his first volume of poems “The Defense of the Wolves”. In the following decades he publishes countless essays, poems and prose and is considered one of the most prolific German writers. He often succeeds in setting topics in the cultural and political debate and making accurate predictions. In 1968 he supports the APO on many issues, but at the same time maintains a critical distance to the student movement. From 1965 to 1975 he is editor of the journal “Kursbuch”.
Hans Magnus Enzensberger lives in Munich.
