Marie Curie
Marie Curie received the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1903 together with her husband Pierre. She was the first woman to be honored with a Nobel Prize at all. Shortly later Pierre Curie died in an accident and Marie had to continue her scientific work and the life with two small daughters.
The film deals with the years between the first and second Nobel Prize, during which Marie Curie had to assert herself in a science-world dominated by men and so she did.
This is the exciting story of an incredibly interesting, intelligent and strong-minded woman at the beginning of the last century.
