Have you ever wondered when the first washing machine was invented? Or when the very first computer was built? Surely no longer than 150 years ago, right?

Looking at ancient artefacts and from what we know through oral and written history, people in antiquity invented prototypes of technological items that have been life-changing for our society today.

We take a look at a number of interesting objects and sights such as Roman baths (underfloor heating!) and Greek steam engines to explore how the past has shaped our present.
