The German picture library Bildarchiv Monheim specialises in the photography of architecture, the built environment around us, as well as historical parks and gardens. The Haniel Garage in Dusseldorf, was designed in 1951 by the architect Paul Schneider-Esleben as Germany's first multi-storey car park. Photographer Florian Monheim captured this image of this post-war modernist building in 1993.

A view of the Rose Garden at Chatsworth House, Derbyshire, photographed by Barbara Opitz. The house and garden were begun by Sir William Cavendish and Bess of Hardwick in 1555 and the gardens stretch to 105 acres on the edge of the Peak District.
