akg-images is the exclusive representative of the Erich Lessing Culture and Fine Arts Archives in the UK. Born in 1923 in Vienna, Lessing has worked for publications such as Life and Paris Match and in 1951 he became a member of the photographers' collective Magnum. As well as being a successful photojournalist, he has spent a lifetime photographing creative works and historical locations. His vast collection comprises over 25,000 colour images covering fine arts, archaeology, religion and architecture, of which the five images below are a mere sample.
