Meet The People | Our Offices

akg-images is particularly proud of its reputation as a friendly and approachable picture library. Our picture researchers have extensive knowledge of all subject areas in the collection and are aided by our helpful sales and marketing team who deal with licensing of reproduction rights, picture administration, advertising and marketing. After four fantastic years at the University of Cambridge, David trained as a graphic designer before deciding to put his MA in History of Art to more practical use. He joined akg-images in 2002 and became Managing Director in 2008. His personal fields of interest are religious art and artefacts and 20th-century architecture.

Angelika completed her degree in European Studies at the University of Royal Holloway in 2006 and went on to work for Lebrecht Photo Library before joining the akg team in June 2008. She has always had an interest in art history, especially 20th century painting, and therefore saw akg-images as the perfect opportunity to work with exciting and captivating picture material.

Anna completed a first degree in Fine Art at Solent University where she enjoyed working and exhibiting as a practising artist using the medium of film. She went on to work in the educational department of the Southampton City Art Gallery, before joining akg-images. Here, she has a chance to engage with her artistic interest in aspects of archiving and collecting as well as deepening her knowledge of art history.

After travelling around South East Asia, Stephanie graduated from The Kent Institute of Art and Design in 2004 with a degree in Editorial and Advertising photography. She went on to work for The Anthony Blake Photo Library as a picture researcher and joined the team at akg-images in February 2007.

“With such a wide variety of images and clients, I am enjoying the challenge of developing the library further and increasing people's awareness of akg-images. It is also great to work with such a friendly and professional team.”

Pace completed her degree in History of Art and English from University College Dublin in 2003 and went on to study for a Masters in Cultural Heritage and Museum studies from the University of Ulster. Pace has previously worked as a guide in the National Gallery of Ireland and as part of the Marketing team of Bonhams Auctioneers, New Bond Street. She is delighted to join the vibrant team at akg-images and is eager to use her previous experience and artistic knowledge to help develop new and existing client relationships.

“I look forward to assisting our clients with any forthcoming projects they may have which will allow me to become more acquainted with our diverse and ever expanding archive. My two passions are art and people and I anticipate building relations around the globe in order to promote our fabulous collection and the services we offer.”

Cecilia's role at akg-images encompasses general administrative duties, including the booking out and return of images, tracking usages and managing the filing.

Natalie graduated from South Bank University with a degree in Accounting and Finance in 2005, working part-time doing management accounting during her course. In the same year, she joined akg-images and is enjoying being part of the company immensely.

“From my perspective this company is innovative and dynamic. akg-images has a policy of promoting staff involvement in the company and the motivation that this inspires is reflected throughout the team.”

Ute did a first degree in History and Art History at UCL before moving on to an MA in Art History. She has been at akg since 1996, working first at the London office, where she was Managing Director from 2006 to 2008, before transferring to the Berlin headquarters to take up an entirely new role in charge of akg's international marketing strategy. Her main areas of interest in the archive are the art of the French Revolution, Film Noir and Ancient Egypt.
